Since 1998 Images In Ice is proud to be one of the only performing female ice carving shows in the world as well as a first class ice sculpture delivery business. We pride ourselves on creating an exiting, fun, and entertaining show of ice and art. Our show has been called “an adventure into the Blizzard of Oz,” and our sculptress has been names “The Ice Queen” by Inside Edition in 1999. We work one-on-one with the organizer of the special event to make sure that our performances fit the needs and ideas of the organization. go to the Performances Page Images In Ice was created after Dominique Colell (owner and head ice
sculptor) gained national recognition as a competitor in the 1999 Miss
California pageant, where she became known as “The Ice Queen.” There she
carved a 350-lb. block of ice in only 2 minutes using a chainsaw, an
assortment of chisels, and an acetylene touch. Radio shows interviewed
her, many newspapers published her image on the front page, and the
television show Inside Edition featured a special on her life as
an ice carver and artist.
While preparing for the Miss California pageant, Dominique studied under master
sculptor Gustave Stempky. Because Dominique is a young female artist in a
profession reserved for big and burly men several years her senior, Dominique’s
popularity has soared. She has performed her unusual talent in New York,
Washington DC, Maryland, Oklahoma, Alaska, and on many stages in southern
California. She is in demand at conventions, fund-raisers, civic activities, and
private parties. Her costumed and themed performances naturally led to the
creation of Images In Ice.
Images In Ice presently employs two workers to manage the 350-lb.
blocks of ice, a costume designer, a recording engineer, a webmaster, and
Dominique Colell, the artist and owner.
